Yardley is proud of the Awards it has achieved, read about them below:

The Quality Mark award celebrates the high standard of teaching in Basic Skills throughout the school. It recognises high standards in Reading, Writing, Mathematics and ICT. It also shows that the school monitors and assesses pupils effectively and sets challenging targets for progression in the above areas of the curriculum. We've now achieved this award three times!

The National Healthy Schools Programme is an exciting long-term initiative which is making a significant difference to the health and achievement of children and young people. The National Healthy Schools Programme supports the links between health, behaviour and achievement; it is about creating healthy and happy children and young people, who do better in learning and in life.

The Next Generation Learning Charter offers schools in England and Northern Ireland the opportunity to make a public commitment to providing better learning opportunities through the effective use of technology.

Active Mark 2008- rewards delivery of the national PE & Sport Strategy. Schools receive the mark if at least 90% of pupils across the school do at least 2 hours high quality PE and school sport a week.

Awards For All-Lottery Funding-This acknowledges that we have applied for, and have been successful in gaining, lottery funding for the provision of new PE gymnastic apparatus in KS1. It is a condition of this award that the equipment in used by the wider community and a local pre-school group regularly make use of our facilities. Our KS1 Gymnastic club also make use of this equipment once a week.

Leading Aspect Award- acknowledges outstanding practice in one area of the curriculum. At our school the award is for Induction of Newly Qualified Teachers. This covers their induction process, the provision of training in their first year of teaching, and the effect that they have on an already established school. With this award we are duty bound to act as a role model and example of good practice for any other school in the education authority.
