It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Queensmead Primary Academy , part of the Greenwood Academies Trust. Thank you for showing an interest in our exciting Academy community. We are a busy but friendly and welcoming place, with lots going on. This website aims to give you a taster of the life of the Academy, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents and pupils.

We are able to share good practice as well as develop effective collaborative working both within our region and across the Trust.

The Academy serves a long-standing local community in the Braunstone area of Leicester. We operate in an open culture with ambitious staff, very well supported by the Trust who are committed to accelerating our progress for the benefit of our 460 pupils and for the future of Queensmead. We've come a long way and continue to grow year by year and day by day.

The Academy is exceptionally well resourced and all our classrooms have an interactive whiteboard, overhead projectors, modern resources and clean and tidy spaces, all teachers are equipped with a laptop. There's an excellent ICT room, a soundproof music room and fully stocked Library and the extended services within the Academy are some of the best within the Trust. Our spacious building and extensive grounds offer some of the best facilities children and parents could wish for; we strive to continually improve and update these spaces to meet the changing needs of our learners.

We aim to continue our recent improvements as an Academy and are committed to further improving quality and standards in a swift yet sustainable manner. July 2013 saw some of the best results Queensmead has had published in its long history and we are very proud of this achievement.  The scene is securely set for Queensmead to tackle its challenges and to raise standards even further!
